Custom Designed Garment Care Labels

Custom designed garment care labels for your handmade clothing business, printed on one metre of knitted jersey fabric. An affordable way to include full colour care labels in all of your clothing or sewing makes.

Because knitted fabric does not fray you do not need to worry about the raw edges. Plus it is soft and comfortable within the clothing when worn, making it perfect for sensory issues.

You can choose which base you prefer for your labels:

• Organic Cotton Spandex
• Double Brushed Polyester

Care labels are fully customisable and can include:

• Your logo
• Tagline
• Contact details
• Washing instructions with text or standardised icons (please note that the standardised icons require you to purchase a license for their use from UKFT).
• Mandatory flammability warning
• Size details
• Fibre content (if you do not use separate swing tags).

Additional Information

Each label is approximately 4cm wide x 9cm high. Although the care labels are fully customisable and dependant on how much information you want to include. Label size may vary slightly due to the stretch nature of the fabric and the printing process.

Care labels are designed with the intention that you fold over and serge into your seams. Care labels allow you to create a professional looking finish.

Sent to you uncut to allow you to prewash them before use if you wish to. A guide for cutting is included with guidelines around all labels.

Approximately 380 care labels per metre of fabric. However due to the nature of stretch fabrics, labels around the very edge of the metre may curl after a wash. Our product tester found that 330 care labels had zero curl and were useable after standard prewashing before use. You do not need to wash them before sewing if you do not wish to.

If you wish to try some jersey fabric labels before purchasing your own custom designed labels, you can order a strip of either our general purpose handmade care labels or our side seam labels.

When you place your order we will contact you via email to begin the design process. Please ensure that you have our email address in your safe list. We will then work with you to create a design that you are happy with. We ask you to confirm the final proof before we send it to our printers. As the care labels are custom printed with our printer, they are subject to our standard preorder lead time which is 8-10 weeks. Lead time commences from the date that you approve your final proof.

Please Note

Please be aware that due to the print process, digital printed fabric can contain small flaws along the length of the fabric. For our own orders we ensure that we order extra over to account for this and cut out any flaws. However with labels, the small order quantities prevent this so please bear this in mind. Small flaws may include such things as small white specks, some small amounts of ink transfer etc, none larger than a 10p piece. We would inspect the fabric prior to sending and if there are larger flaws that affect more than a very small grouping of labels (more than four) then a seconds discount of 10% off per half metre affected will be offered.
